Power supply rule of thumb: PWR-C1 units fit the Catalyst 9300 and 3850; PWR-C5 and PWR-C6 units fit the Catalyst 9200 family. Each switch accepts only one wattage class, and the 9200L takes PWR-C5 only.

Which Cisco Catalyst switch should I buy for an access closet? For basic 1G PoE+ access on a budget, the Catalyst 9200L (from $895 refurbished) is the entry point. If you need stacking with StackWise-480, StackPower or modular uplinks, step up to the Catalyst 9300 (from $1,295). The 9300L sits between them: 9300 software features with fixed 1G or 10G uplinks, from $1,149.90.
What is the difference between the Catalyst 9300 and the 9300L? The 9300 has a modular uplink slot (for example the C9300-NM-8X with 8× 10G SFP+), StackWise-480 stacking and StackPower. The 9300L has four fixed uplinks — 4× 1G SFP on -4G models or 4× 10G SFP+ on -4X models — and stacks with a separate StackWise-320 kit, not the STACK-T1 cables used by the 9300.
Which power supply does a Catalyst 9200L use? The 9200L takes PWR-C5 power supplies only, sized to the model: 125W for 24T/48T, 600W for 24P and 1000W (PWR-C5-1KWAC) for 48P models. Cisco does not support the PWR-C6 variant in the 9200L; PWR-C6 units are for the standard Catalyst 9200.

What do the -E, -A, -S and -L suffixes mean? They name the base software license. On the Catalyst 9000 family, -E is Network Essentials and -A is Network Advantage.
