NVIDIA Hopper (H100 / H200) Interconnect Matrix
Short answer: NVIDIA H100 and H200 systems connect to the cluster fabric through ConnectX-7 at 400Gb/s NDR. The server end takes a flat-top OSFP module and the Quantum-2 switch end takes a finned-top twin-port 800G module that feeds two servers. Inside a rack, OSFP DACs and breakout DACs are cheapest. Beyond that, use SR4 multimode optics to 50 m over MPO-12/APC OM4, or DR4 single-mode optics to 500 m. At Resilient Tec the server-side MMA4Z00-NS400 is $579, the switch-side MMA4Z00-NS is $829 and MPO-12/APC trunks start at $59. Prices and stock checked October 12, 2026.

Which Hopper System Do You Have?
| System | Cluster (compute) ports | What plugs in |
|---|---|---|
| DGX H100 / DGX H200 | 8× ConnectX-7 at 400G, exposed as four twin-port OSFP cages. The cages are flat-top. | Flat-top twin-port 800G modules (MMA4Z00-NS-FLT multimode, MMS4X00-NM-FLT single-mode) or flat-top OSFP DACs. MMS4X00-NM is available flat-top; the multimode flat-top twin-port is quote only. |
| HGX H100 / H200 8-GPU servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro and others) | Usually 8× single-port ConnectX-7 OSFP PCIe adapters, one per GPU. | One flat-top single-port module per adapter: MMA4Z00-NS400 (multimode) or MMS4X00-NS400 (single-mode). In-rack, a breakout DAC from the switch instead. |
| H100 PCIe / H100 NVL servers | ConnectX-7 single-port OSFP, or dual-port QSFP112, depending on the card. | OSFP: as above. QSFP112: MMA1Z00-NS400 400G SR4. Check the cage before ordering — OSFP and QSFP112 are not interchangeable. |
| Storage and in-band ports (ConnectX-7 QSFP112, BlueField-3) | QSFP112 at up to 400G. | MMA1Z00-NS400 with an MPO-12/APC OM4 trunk. |
H100 and H200 use the same networking. The H200 changed GPU memory, not the ConnectX-7 / NDR fabric, so everything on this page applies to both.

Rules That Prevent Wrong Orders
- Flat-top in the server, finned-top in the switch. The heat sink is on the module or on the cage, never both. Air-cooled Quantum-2 switches (QM9700, QM9790) take finned-top; ConnectX-7 adapters and DGX H100/H200 cages take flat-top. How to tell which you need.
- One switch module per two server ports. Each twin-port 800G switch module carries two independent 400G links.
- APC, not UPC. NDR optics use MPO-12/APC (green housing). The UPC MPO cords from a 100G or HDR fabric will not mate with them.
- MMA is multimode, MMS is single-mode. Both ports of a twin-port module must use the same fiber type.
- OSFP is not QSFP-DD or QSFP112. Check the cage. A QSFP-DD 400GbE DAC will not fit an OSFP NDR port.
- InfiniBand or Ethernet. The twin-port modules work on Quantum-2 InfiniBand and Spectrum-4 Ethernet switches; the module firmware follows the switch.
Mixing Hopper and Ampere in One Cluster
Many sites add H100 or H200 nodes next to existing A100 nodes. The Ampere nodes use ConnectX-6 at 200G HDR with QSFP56 ports; the Hopper side is NDR on OSFP. A Quantum-2 switch port can drive two HDR nodes with the MFA7U10-H003 OSFP → 2× QSFP56 active optical cable, so the older nodes can join the new fabric without a separate HDR switch. The HDR side of the fabric (MMA1T00-HS optics, MCP1650-H DACs, HDR100 breakouts) is covered on the A100 interconnect matrix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do H100 and H200 systems use different cables? No. Both use ConnectX-7 at 400Gb/s NDR, so the same OSFP modules, DACs and MPO-12/APC fiber apply. The H200 changed GPU memory, not the network.
Which transceiver goes in an H100 server and which goes in the switch? The server end takes a flat-top single-port 400G OSFP module, such as the MMA4Z00-NS400 (multimode, 50 m) or MMS4X00-NS400 (single-mode, 500 m). The Quantum-2 switch takes a finned-top twin-port 800G module, such as the MMA4Z00-NS or MMS4X00-NM, which serves two servers.
What does a DGX H100 or DGX H200 need? The DGX H100 and H200 expose eight 400G ConnectX-7 ports as four twin-port OSFP cages with flat-top cooling, so they need flat-top twin-port modules (MMA4Z00-NS-FLT or MMS4X00-NM-FLT) or flat-top OSFP DACs, not the finned-top switch modules.
Can I reuse MPO cables from an HDR or 100G fabric? No. NDR optics use MPO-12/APC connectors with an angled endface. The UPC MPO cords used in most 100G and HDR fabrics cannot mate with them.
How far can an NDR 400G link run? Passive OSFP DACs run up to about 2 m, SR4 multimode optics up to 50 m on OM4 (30 m on OM3), and DR4 single-mode optics up to 500 m.
How much do H100 cluster optics cost at Resilient Tec? The MMA4Z00-NS400 server-side 400G SR4 module is $579, the MMA4Z00-NS switch-side 800G twin-port module is $829, MPO-12/APC OM4 trunks start at $59 and the MCP7Y00-N002 2 m breakout DAC is $298.45.
