NVIDIA MMS4X00-NM Compatible 800G OSFP 2×DR4 Twin-Port Transceiver — Dual MPO-12/APC SMF, 1310nm, 500m — Finned-Top or Flat-Top
Warranty: Lifetime
Twin-port 800G, single-mode. Two ports means two cables.
NVIDIA MMS4X00-NM compatible — 800 Gb/s twin-port OSFP, two independent 400G DR4 ports, 1310 nm single-mode, dual MPO-12/APC interfaces, rated to 500 m. Coded for NVIDIA. For Quantum-2 QM9700 and QM9790 switches and DGX-class links.
Which one do I have?
| Your hardware | Cooling | Choose |
|---|---|---|
| Quantum-2 QM9700 / QM9790, air-cooled switch chassis | Chassis airflow over an integrated heat sink | Finned-Top (IHS) — MMS4X00-NM |
| Liquid-cooled systems, DGX-class links | Cold plate or system-level cooling, flat module top | Flat-Top (RHS) — MMS4X00-NM-FLT |
These are two different NVIDIA part numbers, not two finishes. The optics are identical; the thermal design is not, and the wrong one will not cool correctly in your chassis. If you are unsure, the part number printed on the module you are replacing is the answer — or send us a photo and we will tell you.
Two ports, two cables, one fiber type
Each port is an independent 400G DR4 link with its own MPO-12/APC interface. A fully populated module needs two MPO-12/APC OS2 single-mode cables.
Twin-port rule: both ports must run the same fiber type. Do not mix a single-mode cable in one port and something else in the other.
Single-mode DR, not multimode SR
DR-class is single-mode — OS2 9/125, 1310 nm, 500 m. The SR-class modules of the same generation are multimode at 850 nm and 50 m. Same OSFP cage, same MPO-12/APC connector, completely different fiber plant. Confirm which class your fabric is built on before ordering either the modules or the cable.
And as with everything in this generation: the interface is APC. UPC cords from a 100G or 200G fabric will not mate.
