Single-mode DR is not a faster SR
This is the part people get wrong. DR-class modules are single-mode. The SR4 and SR8 modules of the same generation are multimode. Moving from SR to DR is a change to your fiber plant, not a firmware-and-swap upgrade:
- Different fiber. OS2 9/125 single-mode, not OM3/OM4 multimode. An OM4 cable in this port will look like a loss problem and cost you an afternoon.
- Different reach. 500 m here against 50 m on the multimode SR4 part. That is the reason to be on DR at all.
- Same connector, still APC. MPO-12/APC, 8° angled endface. The UPC cords from a 100G or 200G fabric will not mate with it — the full fiber guide is here.
OSFP, and what that rules out
This is an OSFP module. It goes in a single-port OSFP cage on a ConnectX-7 or ConnectX-8 adapter.
It does not go in a BlueField-3. NVIDIA states that BlueField-3 adapters accept QSFP112 devices only, and that OSFP is not for use in BlueField-3 DPUs. If you are populating BlueField-3 on multimode, the part you want is the MMA1Z00-NS400 in QSFP112; on single-mode, ask us and we will source the QSFP112 DR part rather than ship you a module that cannot seat.

The module is pinned; the fiber connector carries the matching holes. That is why the cable you want is female/unpinned, and why a pinned trunk connector is the wrong thing to put in this port.
Reach: read the 500 m carefully
500 m is the module's optical budget, not a patch-cable specification. NVIDIA's own single-mode assemblies for this generation stop at 150 m — past that you are into structured cabling, patch panels and a loss budget you have to actually calculate. Every MPO mating in the path costs you, and at these distances the connectors are most of the budget, not the fiber.
If your run is inside a rack or a row, a single patch cable does it and the 500 m number is headroom you will never touch.

Flat-top or finned-top — which do I have?
Flat-top (RHS) is the host adapter part: it sits in a NIC cage in an air-cooled server, and the system's own airflow does the cooling. Finned-top (IHS) is the switch part, with an integrated heat sink for a switch chassis.
They are not interchangeable and they are not a preference. If you are populating a ConnectX-7 or ConnectX-8 single-port OSFP cage, this flat-top part is the one. If you are populating a Quantum-2 switch, you want the twin-port module instead.
