This guide is for the 800G twin-port MMA4Z00-NS (Quantum-2 switch side) — not the MMA4Z00-NS400 400G flat-top NIC-side module. Short answer: for the NVIDIA MMA4Z00-NS finned-top (IHS) 800G OSFP SR8 twin-port module — the switch-side part for air-cooled Quantum-2 (QM9700 / QM9790) — U.S. pricing runs from $1,887 for new genuine OEM at list, to compatible modules landing in between at $829–$879. This part has a wider spread than most, because "genuine OEM" here covers everything from a warrantied refurb to full list-price new stock, and that gap matters more than compatible-vs-OEM does. The $829 figure is Resilient Tec’s price for a compatible MMA4Z00-NS coded for Quantum-2, sold new with a lifetime warranty and shipped from Knoxville, Tennessee.
Here's the breakdown, and the two mistakes that are specific to this part number.

Why the Spread Is Wider Than the 400G Side
On the server-side flat-top module, the price gap is mostly compatible-vs-OEM. Here, it's compounded by condition: the same genuine-OEM part shows up refurbished at $427 and new-in-box at $1,080 from the same seller. A refurbished module that's been tested and carries a real warranty is a reasonable buy for a lab or a non-production fabric; for a production Quantum-2 deployment under a support contract, that condition difference is usually worth paying for. Read what a listing actually says about condition before comparing it on price alone — "genuine OEM" answers a different question than "new."
Compatible modules avoid the condition question entirely by being new by default, and the $829–$879 band reflects testing and coding overhead the same way it does on the 400G side — a module coded for Quantum-2 specifically, versus one sold as a generic 800G OSFP SKU across every host.
The Part-Specific Mistake: Ordering the Wrong Ratio
This module is a twin-port part — 800G total, presenting as 2 x 400G — and it's designed to pair with two server-side flat-top modules, not one. If you're pricing out a cluster, the module count isn't 1:1 with server ports: one finned-top module here serves two flat-top modules on the ConnectX-7 side, connected over two independent MPO-12/APC patch cords. Pricing a fabric using a 1:1 assumption overstates the switch-side module count by 2x.
The other mistake is cooling type, same as the flat-top side but inverted: this is the air-cooled finned-top (IHS) part for QM9700/QM9790 and Spectrum-4, where switch airflow is reduced and the module has to carry its own cooling. The flat-top 800G variant — MMA4Z00-NS-FLT — is a different part number entirely; NVIDIA's documentation for this family specifies it for the DGX H100, and the same flat-surface logic applies to liquid-cooled deployments where a cold plate has to make contact. We do not stock it, and it is not reliably distinguished in every listing you'll find searching this part number. If a quote doesn't specify which one you're getting, ask.
If any of that is unfamiliar territory, settle the form-factor question before you compare a single price: Flat-Top or Finned-Top OSFP? How to Tell Which Module Your ConnectX-7 Actually Needs covers the rule, the RHS/IHS renaming, the 1:2 switch-to-server ratio, and the near-miss part numbers that won't physically fit.
The Line Item That Isn't on This Table
Two MPO-12/APC patch cords come out of every one of these modules, and they are the part most often left off the quote. NDR optics need APC — angle-polished, Type B crossover, female — and the MPO-12/UPC cords in an existing 100G or 200G plant cannot mate with them. The MPO-12/APC vs UPC guide covers what to check, and OM4 Type B trunk cable runs $59.00 to $139.00 — two per module at this end of the link.
FAQ
How many of these do I need per server-side module?
Order at roughly half as many finned-top (switch-side) modules as flat-top (server-side) modules — one of these feeds two ConnectX-7 ports. Fiber tracks the server side: two MPO-12/APC cords per switch module.
Is refurbished genuine OEM a reasonable buy?
For non-production or lab fabrics, often yes, provided there's a real warranty behind it. For production deployments under a support contract, new stock (compatible or OEM) is the safer default.
Do I need the finned-top or flat-top 800G version?
Finned-top (IHS) for air-cooled Quantum-2 switches (QM9700/QM9790) and Spectrum-4 — this part. The flat-top 800G variant, MMA4Z00-NS-FLT, is a different part number: NVIDIA's documentation specifies it for the DGX H100, and the same logic covers liquid-cooled deployments with a cold plate. Flat-top or finned-top? walks the decision in full, and the NVIDIA OSFP part-number crosswalk has the full mapping.
What fiber goes with it?
Two MPO-12/APC Type B female cords per module, multimode for this SR8 part. UPC cords from a 100G or 200G fabric will not mate. Resilient Tec stocks OM4 Type B trunks from $59.00 (1 m) to $139.00 (20 m), and 1:2 splitters for NDR200 fan-out are built to order. (Prices checked October 19, 2026.)
What's covered under warranty?
Resilient Tec backs this module with a lifetime warranty — reachable directly, not routed through a manufacturer ticket queue.
How much does a compatible MMA4Z00-NS cost at Resilient Tec?
$829 for a new compatible MMA4Z00-NS 800G OSFP SR8 twin-port finned-top (IHS) module coded for air-cooled Quantum-2 (QM9700/QM9790), with a lifetime warranty. Each one pairs with two server-side MMA4Z00-NS400 modules at $579 each (prices checked October 19, 2026).
Where can I buy an MMA4Z00-NS in the US?
Resilient Tec sells it directly from Knoxville, Tennessee, with online checkout and POs or net terms for business accounts: MMA4Z00-NS compatible — $829 at resilient-tec.com. Genuine NVIDIA OEM stock appears in the table above at $1,080 to $1,887.
