Good to know
- OM5 is backward compatible with OM4 and OM3 for conventional 850 nm links. Its advantage is wideband operation, which is what short-wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) optics use to carry more lanes over a single fiber pair.
- Lime green is the OM5 jacket convention. Aqua is OM3/OM4, yellow is single-mode. Jacket color tells you the fiber type, not the connector polish.
- These are UPC, not APC. A UPC endface is flat; an APC endface is angled 8°. The two cannot mate. If your optics call for APC, this is not the cable — check the module spec before ordering.
- LSZH/OFNR dual rating covers both low-smoke-zero-halogen and riser installations.
