Frequently Asked Questions
What distances does an OM4 LC to LC cable support?
With duplex LC optics, OM4 supports 10GBASE-SR up to 400 m, 25GBASE-SR up to 100 m, 40G BiDi up to 150 m and 100G BiDi (SR1.2/SRBD) up to 100 m. Parallel 40G/100G SR4 optics use 12-fiber MPO trunks instead of LC duplex patch cords.
What is the difference between OM3, OM4 and OM5?
OM4 has higher modal bandwidth than OM3 (4700 vs 2000 MHz·km at 850 nm), which extends 10G reach from 300 m to 400 m. OM5 matches OM4 at 850 nm and adds the 850–953 nm band for SWDM optics. OM4 is the standard choice for most data-center 10G/25G/100G BiDi links.
Can I use this cable with single-mode (LR) optics?
No. LR, LR4 and CWDM4 optics need single-mode fiber. Use an OS2 LC to LC cable for those.
What warranty and shipping come with it?
Resilient Tec's lifetime warranty. US standard shipping is free with no minimum, and orders typically arrive in 3 to 5 days.
