Dell TR5TP (0TR5TP) GPU Power Cable – 8-Pin to PCIe 6-Pin + 6+2-Pin for PowerEdge R740 / R740xd, Used
Warranty: Lifetime
The Dell TR5TP (Dell part 0TR5TP) is the PCIe-style GPU power cable for the PowerEdge R740 and R740xd. It runs from the GPU riser's 8-pin power header to a card with PCIe 6-pin and/or 6+2-pin (PCIe 8-pin) power inputs, the kind used on workstation and consumer-style GPUs.
It is not the cable for data-center cards with an 8-pin EPS-12V (CPU-style) input, such as the NVIDIA A40, V100 or P40. Those need the Dell 4VPD3. These are genuine Dell pulls from working servers.
Specs
- Dell part number: 0TR5TP (TR5TP)
- Type: Internal GPU auxiliary power splitter cable, 1 cable per listing
- Riser end: 8-pin
- GPU end: one PCIe 6-pin and one PCIe 6+2-pin (usable as 6-pin or 8-pin)
- Length: approx. 8 in (20 cm)
- Servers: Dell PowerEdge R740, R740xd
- Condition: Used – genuine Dell pull
Check before you order
- Read the auxiliary power line on your GPU's spec sheet. "PCIe 6-pin", "PCIe 8-pin" or "6+2-pin" means this cable. "8-pin CPU" or "EPS-12V" means the 4VPD3 instead.
- Slot-powered cards such as the Tesla T4, L4 and P4 draw 75 W or less and need no cable.
- One cable powers one card.
- The server also needs Dell's GPU enablement kit, the high-performance fan kit and 1100 W or larger supplies. Our R740xd GPU Ready build has all of that installed.
Never force or adapt one connector type into the other. EPS-12V and PCIe 8-pin carry 12 V and ground on different pins. A plug that only fits with force is the wrong plug.
Lifetime warranty
Backed by the Resilient Tec lifetime warranty. If it doesn't fit your server and GPU, we replace or refund it.
FAQ
What is the difference between TR5TP and 4VPD3?
TR5TP feeds PCIe 6-pin and 6+2-pin inputs, used by workstation cards. 4VPD3 feeds an 8-pin EPS-12V input, used by data-center cards like the A40, V100 and P40. They are not interchangeable.
Does the TR5TP power an NVIDIA A40?
No. The A40 has an 8-pin EPS-12V input and needs the Dell 4VPD3 cable.
How much does the Dell TR5TP cable cost?
$23.50 per cable at Resilient Tec, in stock and shipping from Knoxville, Tennessee, with a lifetime warranty.
